GARY BAUER was born and raised in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School. He and his wife Mary have been married 39 years and have three children and three grandchildren. They are active members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Bauer earned both Bachelors and masters degrees from the Ohio State University. He has been an educator for 38 years, first as a vocational agriculture teacher and then as an extension educator with Ohio State University Extension. He retired from extension upon his election as County Commissioner. He also served the Norwalk School District as a board of education member for 11 years and the EHOVE Board of Education. He has been a 4-H Club advisor for 33 years.
